Recently, dear reader, my other half and I have become completely addicted to watching westerns, such as as 'Hell on Wheels' and 'Dead Wood' which has made me look at things in a completely different way. I love the whole homespun thing which contrasts sharply with the Victorian elegance of the time. For the poor, this really was make-do and mend!
I saw this really easy poncho pattern in a knitting book and thought, as I'm not much of a knitter that if I could commit I might be able to manage to make it. That's what I love about sewing, things can take shape quite quickly. Knitting requires a bit more dedication and perseverance.
